Monte del Sol Charter School educates and inspires Santa Fe's diverse population in grades 7 through 12, by building strong relationships and creatively engaging the local and global community.
To do this, Monte del Sol Charter School will:
- provide a small school so each individual is known;
- acknowledge and celebrate the diversity of its members and the community;
- connect students with adult community members through the mentorship program;
- foster awareness of the world through international trips, student exchanges, special events and curricula;
- engage students in the arts through events, activities, and curricula;
- teach the importance of environmental sustainability in our curricula and through participation in the garden.

FROM THE DESK OF ROBERT JESSEN Español
Hello parents, family and friends of Monte del Sol !
We are right at the end of a year that will go down as one of the most memorable because of the loss of our dear Cara Esquivel. And I am doubly sorry that she won’t be here next year to witness something she lobbied for consistently:a school with no cell phones.
We are stressing getting all students to work hard in class and increasing overall school rigor. This spring we passed a policy to stop using E2020 as credit recovery (only multiple choice assessments) to using Florida Virtual Academy that has a live teacher assigned to the course. Students will not be able to take it the same year the course is failed, but will instead need to retake the class over the summer. The cost for a semester of credit recovery will be $200, and a full year will be $400. We want to motivate students to pass courses the first time.
