Athletics

In school year 2007 to 2008, Monte del Sol offers boys' and girls' soccer, girls' volleyball, boys' and girls' basketball, track and baseball.  We do not offer swimming this year, and do not yet offer cheerleading or football.  (See list of coaches and contact numbers below).

Athletics are open to all and there is a "no cut" policy, meaning all students who try out for a team will play to some degree.  For more details and up-to-date game information, contact Athletics Coordinator, Frankie Lucero on 505-231-3374 or flucero@montedelsol.org  We do not yet have our own gym or soccer field so many practices and home games take place either at Genoveva Chavez Community Center, Ft. Marcy Complex or the Municipal Recreation Complex (MRC) fields off Hwy. 599 depending on the sport and season. (see directions below) Our Basketball team was first in the District in 03-04, qualified for regionals in 04--05 and state in 05-06.  Go Dragons !
